Use an Antique Telephone with VOIP

If you have VOIP set up in your home I can fit a pulse to tone unit and enable it to work perfectly on your system. If you don't have a landline and want to have an old telephone connected and working this could be ideal.

If you sign up to a VOIP provider it will allow you to use a landline telephone with no monthly charges and very low call charges at around 4.5p per call and pay as you go.

You would need a to have a reasonable broadband connection and buy an ATA unit. I use a Grand stream 802, 4" X 4" X 1"inches deep and Sipgate.com and connect my WiFi via a plug in TP-Link plug to my BT Hub and another TP-Link to a plug socket where I wanted my telephone to reside.

I would not say its easy to set up, but it can be done even by me in a couple of hours. Probably a more competent person a few minutes. Once you have it all working you can play around with the programming via computer and get your telephone to ring in different formats. I have the American ring which is a nice long ring and long space and long ring. Very pleasant with my American Chrome Pay Phone. If you already have a landline like me it will give you up to another two lines and numbers so that your other half can use the phone while you take business calls etc. The double gong ringer will work perfectly as long as you have 4000 ohms coils or a 3.3K resister if it has 1000 ohm coils. I will make sure the ringer is set to this if buying for a VOIP system.
